Mobility
aYou can get a wheelchair, scooter or even lift chair anywhere. So, why choose Frederick Medical Supplies? We offer the most advanced mobility and seating solutions available. With five Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) on staff, we continually provide the most up to date training on devices and their software so you can be assured we have detailed knowledge of the solutions that are specific to you. ATPs specialize in analyzing disability needs, assisting in the selection of appropriate assistive technology, and providing training in the use of the devices.
We utilize this knowledge as we collaborate with your team (patient, family, physician, and therapist) to determine the best fit.
We assess each patient’s individual seating and mobility needs. From there, we are able to determine the level of equipment that is necessary to maintain their independence.
Our certified staff will deliver your device, individualize it to your specific needs and educate you on its use.
For customers that need advanced mobility equipment such as regular or complex power chairs, we are trained and certified in recommending and repairing alternative drive controls. An ADC is a product or system that is used by an individual to compensate for cognitive impairment and support his or her independence and mobility. (regular/complex power chairs) this ranges from a standard joystick power chair to full-blown complex rehab with head array for function.
Among other vendors, we work with the popular Pride mobility and have fit hundreds of patients with chairs specific to their needs. Most commonly, we see patients with traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis (MS) and Lou Gehrig's disease (or ALS.) Our mobility team will work with the client in the most conducive environment for them. This is enables us to provide the most appropriate product evaluations and trials . This includes clinical and/or in-home assessments.
